The world is spinning and its not from wine!

Hey folks, greetings! If you have been watching the news lately you probably have heard about the Jet Blue flight attendant who just had enough and spun out of control. I can't say for certain and I am not sure I agree with his method, but I do understand his frustration. I am sure that each of us has had occasion to feel exactly like he did, pressured, beat upon, and dehumanized, the lack of dignity that we accord one another is astounding. We each feel the indignities of everyday life and often times use them as an excuse to lash out and inflict pain on everyone we come in contact with, its not fair and not right. We must work diligently to correct what has become a way of life, we must continually think about the golden rule and treat one another as we wish to be treated. If we do not, we risk having the exact same treatment given to this man, and we will not like it just as he did not.

We often feel powerless to change what is happening around us, and that is a wrong assumption. We can affect one person at a time, and we will do so positively if we make it our goal to everyday speak encouraging things, think and build into our lives strong moral and ethical principles that others can and will use as a good example to follow. We must work at deflecting negative vibes from those around us and creating an exemplary aura of goodwill and regular acts of kindness.

One by one those around us will notice our progress and will copy our good example. If you don't think that's true, step back and stop doing the good things you do, watch the reaction of those who have come to expect them from you. Their comments will encourage you to continue. What do you ave to loose? Try it you will come to like it!

Now while you meditate on that a while, open up a refreshing bottle of pinot noir and swirl its full bodied taste in your mouth, and relax with good thoughts, great wine, and a determination to remake your own space into a better world.

Life sucks and then there is wine!!

Yes I was reminiscing about the daily toil we go through working each day to earn enough to pay our bills and manage our lifestyle's with the hope that in the end we will end up with more leftover than we first thought. I suppose we would if we stopped buying so much good wine, haha.
Recently I had the privilege to taste an outstanding pinot noir from France. It was an inexpensive wine from a border town near the Mediteranian. The flavor was mild and fruity, with no after taste as it went down smoothly, It was absolutely refreshing and less than $10 a bottle, wow, can't beat that, an outstanding taste with no sticker shock. I was suprized by the fact that the bottle was capped with a screw on and not a cork! Yet the wine was secured and safe and preserved for immediate use. The borolla's from Italy also make a great everyday wine, at least for me, not too sweet, not too tart, just a perfect blend of a great grapes that quench the thirst and sate the desire.

It has been my pleasure to investigate many wines for $10 and under a bottle. an australian shiraz from a great vineyard, a borolla from Italy, additional pinot noir's from France, even some very smooth zinfindel's from the United States, particularly the California vineyards. In almost every case I have found some exciting wines with delicate flavors and mild aromas that please the palate, with or without food. Adding food to the mix simply enhances the experience and prolongs the flavors in one's mouth, creating a most pleasant memory that can be revisited time and again.

The moral here, is simple, to make each day of life a little more livable and enjoyable supply yourself with modest drink and good food, add some close friends and presto you have an ocassion to celebrate. A friendly gathering need not be expensive or lavish, in fact I enjoy a regular guy's night, with just wine, pizza and a great dessert. If the wine is good, the pizza tastes better and the dessert is great, a good time is had by all.

So as not to sound like a complete lush, let me say that I enjoy good wine, even inexpensive wine in moderation, and I surely do not drive after drinking, you shouldn't either.
